Manchester City fans at the Transfer Tavern are still feeling optimistic about their season despite being 3rd in the table…

Pep Guardiola’s men sit in 3rd with 13 games to go, sitting 11 points off of top. They do however have a game in hand over Chelsea thanks to a fixture clash due to Manchester United’s League cup final, meaning the gap between them and the Blues could shorten to 8 points.

However, they are through to the quarter-finals of the FA Cup after brushing aside Huddersfield town in their midweek replay.

The landlord at the Tavern thinks that Manchester City do have a chance at winning the domestic double however it would take a miracle with the form that Chelsea are in.

There has been much debate on the future of Sergio Aguero, the Mirror has linked Aguero with a move to the Spanish capital in recent weeks after being dropped to in-form striker Gabriel Jesus. Aguero has found his way back amongst the starting XI due to Jesus’ injury although there is still speculation linking him elsewhere.

It seems as though the Man City fans aren’t concerned, though, with Gabriel Jesus quickly emerging and impressing in the Premier League.

They are, of course, hoping that Aguero stays, but it seems as though they are content with just having Jesus going forward.

2 weeks ago Gabriel Jesus limped off of the game against Bournemouth after just 15 minutes. The BBC quoted Guardiola saying that the Brazilian may not be fit again until either the end of this season or the beginning of the next.

Despite this injury, Citizens still have a lot of love for their new star. He has notched up 3 goals in 4 games so far in Manchester and even has an assist.

This tweet shows that City fans really admire the potential of Gabriel Jesus and even rate him above the likes of Luis Suarez, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Gonzalo Higuaín after playing just 4 games this season.

Leroy Sane was amongst the goals again on Sunday, part of Manchester City’s 2-0 away win against a struggling Sunderland. This was Sane’s sixth goal in 22 games for the Citizens so far this season.

The young German has netted in each of his last 3 games for City and he is finally proving his £37 million price tag. This fan clearly feels that Manchester City are in safe hands with the ex-Schalke man.

City fans at the Tavern think that Sane’s rise can only become more meteoric with the more games that he plays, and they are hoping that Guardiola continues to pick the versatile winger.
