These 3 players could follow Edinson Cavani to Chelsea this summer in Conte’s rebuild

If reports in the British press are to believed, Chelsea have launched a stunning bid for Paris Saint-German striker Edinson Cavani.

The Blues have been long been linked with the Uruguayan striker, but with the West London giant having been linked with a host of other targets this summer – this deal has come way out of left field.

With reports suggesting that the club want the deal wrapped up quickly, it surely wont be long before Chelsea look elsewhere, as the club look to rebuild the rest of their squad going into next year.

A long list of targets has been mooted throughout the summer, but it is time to separate the fact from the fiction.

Antonio Conte certainly cannot sign them all. Though ears are to the ground in the Transfer Tavern and the Stamford Bridge locals have decided upon the trio most likely to follow him.

Here are THREE players that could follow Edinson Cavani to Chelsea this summer

Kalidou Koulibaly

A centre back will no doubt have been at the top of Conte’s shopping list this summer; but he has thus far been unsuccessful.

With Kurt Zouma still out injured, Gary Cahill woefully out of form, plus John Terry nearing retirement – the centre of the backline is in dire need of rebuilding.

Chelsea were originally linked with Leonardo Bonucci, but after being priced out of that move, the club have reportedly switched their sights to Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly.

If The Express are to be believed, Chelsea are looking to wrap the deal up before they get too far into pre-season, with a £33m bid expected to go in within the next few days

Radja Nainggolan

Nainggolan

Roma have been convincing in their determination to hold onto Radja Nainggolan; but it seems that Conte and his new charges are showing no signs of holding back in their quest to sign the powerful midfielder.

The Belgian has been linked with a move to London for months, and whilst Chelsea have reportedly had a number of moves for him rejected, the club are not being dismayed.

The Daily Mail are reporting that Chelsea won’t take no for an answer, and are set to launch yet another £30m+ move for him before the transfer window ends.

With reports constantly linking Nemanja Matic and John Obi Mikel with a move away from Stamford Bridge, Nainggolan would no doubt be the first player that Chelsea would go back in for, despite the club having already signed N’Golo Kante.

Alvaro Morata

Morata

Another target that Chelsea are refusing to give up on, the Alvaro Morata transfer saga will seemingly continue until the end of the transfer window.

The club have reportedly been pushed back after Real Madrid were asking anywhere up to £67m  for the Spaniard, but that price will no doubt reduce the closer we get to the end of the transfer window.

Los Blancos are clearly playing hard ball for him, but with Benzema, Bale and Ronaldo all likely ahead of him in the pecking order…will the 23-year old really get a chance at the club next year?

Rumours for this deal simply won’t go away, and whilst it will likely drag on, Real Madrid will no doubt panic and sell him when club’s refuse to pay what they are asking over the next few weeks.
