Rumours are abound in the Football Transfer Tavern today surrounding the future of one of Chelsea’s young starlets and where his future might lie.
Numerous media outlets are suggesting that young striker Patrick Bamford could be on his way to Scottish champions Celtic, as Brendan Rodgers looks to continue his Scottish revolution this summer.
Celtic of course are looking to rebuild their side as they bid to stay at the top of the Scottish Premiership, especially with arch rivals Rangers now back in the fold.
Bamford joins a long line of targets that Rodgers reportedly has for his new side, and our landlord thinks a few players could be set to follow Bamford up north in the coming days…
With that, here are THREE players that could follow Patrick Bamford to Celtic…..
Scott Sinclair
One player that Celtic definitely have their eye on is Aston Villa ace Scott Sinclair.
Brendan Rogers of course knows the English winger through his time with both the Chelsea youth team, and when Rodgers was in charge of Swansea.
The pacey winger has had a rough time of it since leaving Rodgers and Swansea; failing to solidify himself in the Manchester City team and subsequently being sold to Aston Villa.
The Daily Mail are reporting that Celtic have recently had a couple of bids rejected for the winger; but expect the club to keep going in for their man as they finally look to capture him.
This one is a matter of WHEN; not IF.
Paddy McNair
Another man with Premier League experience that could be on the way to Celtic is Man Utd starlet Paddy McNair, who Jose Mourinho is reportedly willing to let go this summer for a cut fee.
The cut price will no doubt put a number of clubs on alert, with the Daily Star reporting that Celtic in particular are keen on the Northern Irish defender, whom shares his country of origin with Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers.
McNair is a decent defender, not looking out of place in the United defence when given the chance; but with Jose Mourinho keen to bring in outside talent, it seems that there is just no place for him.
A low fee with plenty of potential; this could be a win-win for Celtic.
Tom Lawrence
Another player that Celtic are interested in, this time on loan, is ex Manchester United starlet Tom Lawrence.
After he was given his Premier League debut in 2014, Lawrence was subsequently sold to Leicester City, where he remains today.
The club are reportedly looking to loan out the forward in order to get him some valued first team experience, and he could prove a real asset to the Scottish champions.
Lawrence himself is an impressive player, having already made a few international appearances with Wales and having played in a number of English leagues.
If he can find his scoring boots in Scotland – he could be a real asset for Rodgers next season.
