Do Not Sell My Personal Information

These 4 Chelsea players must be sold by Antonio Conte immediately – Agreed?

Whenever a new manager comes in, especially to a top club; many fans biggest thoughts are with regards to which players he might bring with him.

This was certainly the case with Antonio Conte, with the Transfer Tavern alive with rumours surrounding a number of huge European names coming to London.

What people often pay less attention to however is the outgoings at a club; and after such a poor season last year; Chelsea certainly need to get rid of some of the dead weight at the club.

With a lack of Champion’s League football next season, the need for the club to sell in order to buy is even more real for the Blues, with one or two BIG names expected to leave the club this summer

With that, these are FOUR Chelsea players that must be sold by Antonio Conte, including a STAR attacking midfielder….

Loic Remy

Brought in as a second choice striker, Loic Remy’s time with the Blues has been very mixed.

In the clubs title winning season, whilst Remy was used sparingly; he frequently popped up with important goals and certainly deserved his winners medal at the end of the season.

However since then, a mixture of injuries and a lack of trust has caused the striker’s career to stagnate, last season was typically fourth or fifth choice striker behind a wealth of other talent.

It is not all the fault of the management however; typically when Remy was given a chance, he failed to deliver.

As he gets on in his years, and with no first team spot expected in the near future; Loic Remy has to leave this summer.

Baba Rahman

Baba RahmanBaba Rahman

A player that was brought in as a long needed Ashley Cole replacement, Baba Rahman’s time with the Blues has been largely disappointing.

Whilst Chelsea fans were expecting the consistency of a young Ashley Cole; what they actually got was something much worse.

Rahman failed to adjust to the Premier League, often making crucial mistakes and failing to offer anything at either end of the pitch.

Despite spending a fair bit on the full back just a year ago, it is time for the Blue’s to cut their losses and let the defender go.

He simply isn’t the next Ashley Cole; and the Blue’s need to look elsewhere

John Obi Mikel

Mikel

This one will draw some mixed reactions from the Chelsea faithful here in the Tavern.

John Obi Mikel is a divisive player; many think he is great, but many others think he is over rated.

What Mikel offers is a very simple no-nonsense style of play; but for a team like Chelsea who are looking to rebuild a new look squad, they really need someone in their midfield with a bit more creativity.

John Obi Mikel has been a fantastic servant to the club over the last few years, and he will certainly go down as a Chelsea legend.

But with reported interest from Turkey; now is the time for the midfielder to make the move out of London.

Oscar

Oscar

When Oscar burst onto the scene against Juventus in the Champion’s League and scored two excellent quick fire goals; he was immediately thrust to the centre of attention in European football.

Despite being relatively unknown across the continent, within a 90-minute period; he had arrived.

Even last season, Oscar would occasionaly crop up with a performance as good as that game against Juventus; but in that lies his real issue. He only pulls off those performances occasionally.

He might put in a few very good performances, but then the next week you wont even realize he is playing. It is this lack of consistency that has cost him his place in the Chelsea first team.

The Brazilian has been a long term target of Juventus, and if they were to come in for the midfielder this summer with a high enough offer; the club should absoloutely accept it.

Oscar has all the talent; but at a top club like Chelsea you cannot afford to be inconsistent to the degree that he is.
