These 5 players could follow Axel Witsel to Chelsea this summer

For those watching Belgium at EURO 2016, you will most certainly have noticed Axel Wiesel, the midfield maestro who has been ripping up defences in France this summer.

The midfielder, who has a an afro that rivals that of Fellaini, has been a real star for Belgium and has attracted the attention of many clubs, including Chelsea.

Witsel is named in the Belgium side ahead of Fellaini and there is no surprise. He is a classy player, who is strong and composed and the Landlord at the Tavern is excited at the thought of seeing him in the Premier League.

Other than Witsel, Chelsea definitely need another few faces to strengthen the side.

Antonio Conte will definitely want the Blues to challenge for the top four this season, but his squad is simply not good enough… yet.

Here are a few more names that Chelsea could sign as well as Witsel this summer……..

Mahmoud Dahoud

Dahoud

Chelsea fans, do not worry if you haven’t heard of this one.

The 20-year-old was an integral part of Borussia Monchengladbach’s success last season, scoring 5 goals and providing 9 assists.

The centre midfielder has been capped by Germany’s under 21 side and is surely, according to the Germans at the Tavern, “the next big thing”.

Lucas Moura

Lucas Moura

Every club in the Premier League will be praying that Chelsea don’t grab Lucas from PSG.

The 23- year-old winger is renowned for his pace and skills, he grabbed 14 goals and 9 assists in France last season.

Our landlord feels that Lucas would be a fantastic acquisition for Antonio Conte’s Chelsea this summer.

Marek Hamsik

Hamsik

Marek Hamsik scored one of the goals of the tournament for Slovakia at Euro 2016 with his super strike against Russia. However the 28-year-old offers more than just a goal or two.

The Napoli midfielder is great on the ball as well as providing many goals and assists for both club and country.

Hamsik would provide Chelsea with an added element of creativity, and ultimately an extra outlet for Diego Costa to utilise.

Memphis Depay

depaydepay

What?! No player has made the switch from Old Trafford to Anfield since 1964, but Memphis could be set to do just that just one year after signing for the Red Devils.

The Dutch winger didn’t have the most fantastic of debut seasons in England, but he could rekindle his game at Stamford Bridge.

Neven Subotic

Subotic

With John Terry on his last legs, Subotic would be a fantastic addition to Conte’s Chelsea.

The 27-year-old centre-back has been excellent alongside Mats Hummels during his time at Borussia Dortmund, and it is clear the Serbion star has what it takes to excel in the Premier League.

Our Chelsea fans over by the pool table here in the Tavern would love to see Subotic through the door at Stamford Bridge this summer!
