With the team flying high and unbeaten, all of a sudden it’s come crashing down for our Manchester United fans here in the Transfer Tavern.

Up until the Liverpool match, United looked like a force to be reckoned with in the league and Champions league. Two tough watches for our punters and a loss to Huddersfield have 360’d United’s season, much to their collective dismay. Hit with seven injuries and with only two midfielders to choose from, Mourinho has had to keep the squad ticking over as much as they can.

The defeat to newly promoted Huddersfield Town left manager Jose Mourinho furious and was to have told his players to explain to the United faithful why they lacked any type of passion and energy for the match. Our glass collector said he saw this defeat coming, with the press surrounding the PSG comments the United main man had made, how they just stumbled past Benfica and bored the life out of the travelling support with a drab scoreless draw at Anfield.

Our landlord thinks that these three players have seriously let Mourinho down in the past few weeks and should be looking at repaying his faith…

Luke Shaw

The United left-back has been given numerous chances over the previous two managers to show what he can be capable of, yet he always fails to live up to expectations.

Again this season with United looking short on the left back position and having a make doo attitude with a rotation of players, Shaw once again has failed to show up and with his contract coming to an end you’d think the former Southampton man would be pulling his socks up at this crucial time.

Victor Lindelof

We can’t be so hard on Lindelof as he adjusts to life in the English Premier League, though a defender is still a defender and he was at fault for both goals in the recent loss to Huddersfield Town.

He may be lacking in confidence with every game that he plays but with Mourinho trusting in him with a big money move you’d think he’d take a leaf out of Mkhitaryan’s book last year and do everything he can to show he’s a United man.

Romelu Lukaku

Lukaku has a very big burden on his shoulders to carry at the moment being United’s only main striker after is explosive start the goals have dried up in the past three matches for the Belgian marksman, leaving Marcus Rashford to carry the can.

With that price tag and responsibility Lukaku must take the ownership of goals, yes he’s not going to score every match but he also needs to step up in the big matches and when United and Mourinho needs him most.
