Reds here in the Tavern are looking for some movement this transfer window, with issues still needing to be ironed out. 

Jurgen Klopp has been a very busy man over the past couple of transfer windows, but in all the wrong areas it may seem. Indeed, you can’t help but praise the German for acquiring the likes of Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane, but it’s the lack of defensive signings that have really caused for supporters to look on in fear.

However, if Klopp is looking to bring in a few more signings then there’s going to be some movement needed, with a few Reds here in the Tavern believing that their overload in attacking personnel and their troubles in defence may be the routes to go down.

Although, with a Champions League spot still looking like a long-shot, the January transfer window comes of added importance to how the second-half of the season will pan-out.

Our Landlord believes that we can come to expect a lot of departures in January, with plenty of players currently stagnating behind the scenes as they continue to drain a salary at Anfield.

So without any further ado, here’s a look at TWO players whose Liverpool days are numbered.

Jon Flanagan

Although Jon Flanagan was one of England’s hottest prospects at one point, he’s struggled to get into the Liverpool side after failing to replicate the form that saw him named the ‘Scouse Cafu’ under Brendan Rodgers.

Now, having gone out on-loan to Burnley last season to make 6 appearances for the club, he’s struggled to make any sort of headway into the side with just the 1 appearance this season.

Therefore, with Joe Gomez and Nathaniel Clyne looking far superior to the right-back, it looks as if the forgotten man has lost his abilities with a January exit looking inevitable.

Lazar Markovic

The Serbian has been playing ‘where’s wally’ for the past couple of years at the club, with him replicating the standard of a Championship player in his loan stints at Hull City, Sporting Lisbon and Fenerbache.

Now, having made 0 appearances this season, it looks as if he’s very much the forgotten man with one of Serbia’s hottest prospects bought at the age of 20-years-old, now looking like nothing less than a bog-standard lower division player.

Therefore, with them underestimating his ability, and his contract lasting until 2019, they’ll surely look to unload this flop in January.
