Leeds United recorded yet another victory in the Championship last night by scraping past Reading courtesy of a second-half strike from Stuart Dallas.
Marcelo Bielsa’s revolution at Elland Road has produced an excellent standard of football so far this season, but his side were forced to dig deep and show another side to their game last night.
Reading stopper Anssi Jaakkola was in inspired form for the visitors, twice denying Kemar Roofe to keep his side in the game, but he was helpless to prevent Dallas from scoring the winner after 60 minutes.
Roofe has been in exceptional form this season under Bielsa, topping the goal scoring charts with eight league goals, but he drew a blank last night due to the heroics of Jaakkola.
But the Elland Road favourite impressed at the spearhead of the attack with his instinctive ability to get into the right positions and influence the game with his intricacy in possession, and he earned plenty of esteemed praise from the supporters on Twitter.
Indeed, supporters turned out in their numbers to gush over his display at centre-forward, with one supporter in particular citing Bielsa’s influence as a pivotal factor driving his development.
