These Liverpool fans are full of praise for Virgil van Dijk

Liverpool fans are enjoying life at the moment, and with good reason. They had a fantastic campaign last season, and they’ve started this season in even better form. The Reds are impressing in the Premier League, and Jurgen Klopp’s men look like a real threat.

A player that has been at the centre of their success is Virgil van Dijk. The defender moved to Anfield from Southampton last season in January, and there were a lot of demands on his shoulders. Liverpool had been really struggling defensively, and he was effectively tasked with fixing everything.

The 6ft3 stalwart came in and immediately made an impact. Expectations were high, but he really delivered when Liverpool needed it most, and he’s continued that form this season over the last few weeks.

Unsurprisingly, then, the Dutchman has been named as Liverpool’s ‘Standard Chartered Player of the Month’ for his performances in August.

Liverpool won every Premier League game they played in August, and their resolute defensive performances were due in large part to van Dijk. Naturally, he’s a very popular man amongst Liverpool fans, and many supporters have taken to Twitter to lavish praise upon him.
