The January transfer window is now just a few months away and the Manchester United fans here in the Transfer Tavern are discussing the latest rumours.

It’s been reported that Man United have sent many a scout up to Scotland to track the progress of Celtic’s Moussa Dembele, though they’ll face tough competition from no fewer than 17 other clubs that are also sniffing around.

United aren’t short of attacking options but a backup striker to Romelu Lukaku once Zlatan Ibrahimovic has moved on will be something in the mind of the United board.

The youngster has certainly made an impression with our landlord who thinks it’ll take a fair few million to turn Celtic’s head. However, with the Red Devils looking to have that strength in depth and invest in youth for the future, the purchase of Dembele would be a real coup.

He might not be the only January arrival, though, with our resident Red Devils wanting a few more.

With that said, these two players could follow Dembele to Man United in January

Dembele’s teammate has also been linked with a move to Old Trafford and a double swoop for the pair might not be out of the question.

Tierney is also likely to be well courted around the European clubs and United would again have a fight on their hands to win the race to his signature.

The full-back would fit in perfectly and with the left back role up for grabs, he could be a first-team regular rather quickly. Luke Shaw, of course, has struggled to make the position his own, and Mourinho has yet to really nail down his first choice in the position.

Like Dembele, though, this move would demand a huge cash sum.
