Our Liverpool fans here in the Transfer Tavern are feeling as excited as they have for some time right now and can’t wait to see what happens in January.
You can’t blame them, either, as they have seen their team play some of the best football in the league on their way to second in the Premier League table as we approach the half-way stage.
The Reds have been flying, then, but many here by the bar think some in-comings in January wouldn’t go amiss in a bid to help strengthen their challenge even further.
It appears, though, that outgoings are also on the menu at Anfield this January with The Daily Mail reporting that Lucas Leiva is set to move on loan to Inter Milan.
That’s got our landlord thinking, then, who else could follow the Brazilian out of the door next month? Here’s who he came up with…
Alberto Moreno

Moreno isn’t going to be Liverpool’s left back anytime soon and may not be fit for any position at the club for much longer.
The Spaniard has endured a pretty torrid time with the club and may fancy a move away himself in a bid for more game time and to relaunch his career. The only problem is, with the way he’s played at Liverpool, whether any teams at the top level are going to be willing to take a punt on him.
Mamadou Sakho

The Frenchman has to leave, doesn’t he?
His relationship with Jurgen Klopp must be beyond repair because nothing has happened in the last few months to suggest they are even close to reconciliation. His ill-discipline sent him home early from the club’s pre-season tour and from thereon he has had to reside in the U23 side at the club with not even a sniff of first team action. He needs to leave, then, for the good of everyone.
