Chelsea fans here in the Tavern are beginning to lose faith in their side, as the weekend’s result saw them drop down to fourth-position in the table.
Antonio Conte’s side will have had high hopes of retaining their Premier League title this year. Although, with the title already out of reach, this isn’t exactly how it’s turned out, though our west London locals retain hope of finishing in the top four this season, in one of the most competitive campaigns for it in years.
Indeed, after the heroics of Didier Drogba in the Champions League winning season of 2012, Blues fans are craving more nights like those as European success becomes a thing of the past for supporters at Stamford Bridge.
However, Spanish giants Barcelona currently stand in the way of Chelsea recreating a piece of history, as they’ll be hoping to replicate the magic of 2012 in which they managed to overcome the brilliance of Lionel Messi in a two-legged encounter. Indeed, they’re going to need all the help they can get and the transfer window provides the perfect opportunity for the Blues to build on their squad.
And, one player who Chelsea have their eyes on is Ivorian international Jean-Michael Seri, a defensive-midfielder who currently plays his football for French club Nice.
A player who’s drawn many comparisons to N’Golo Kante, as the in-demand Ivorian looks to be a future star.
With that in mind, here’s a look at TWO players who could follow Seri to Stamford Bridge this month…
Moussa Marega

Moussa Marega is the next big thing coming out of FC Porto, with his goalscoring figures so far this season establishing him as one of Portugal’s best.
Indeed, having scored 15 goals and assisted six already this campaign, the 26-year-old has shown he has what it takes to perform at the highest level with two of these assists even coming in the Champions League.
For a Chelsea side that are looking to Andy Carroll, the signing of the FC Porto striker would not only work wonders for this season, but would also see him become a part of their future plans at the Bridge.
However, they do face stiff competition from Manchester United for the African, who is known to want a Premier League move.
Emerson Palmieri

The AS Roma full-back has emerged as the next big thing out of Italy, as the Brazilian’s attracted attention from some of Europe’s best.
Indeed, the defender is the kind of player Chelsea would love to have at the club, offering pace and attacking intent down the left-hand side with the ability to make things happen in the final-third.
Currently having the irreplaceable Marcos Alonso in that position will make for some difficult decisions at Stamford Bridge. Although, with the Spaniard yet to have any real competition on the left, the addition of Emerson Palmieri could see the performances of Alonso soar with a new signing.
The Blues continue to be linked with the defender, as they look to bring him to Stamford Bridge this window.
