Our Middlesbrough fans here in the Transfer Tavern can’t wait for their side to get going this season as they are hoping for a promotion surge.
Indeed, Boro have to be one of the favourites to go up into the Premier League at the end of this coming campaign with the fact that they’ve kept most of their squad in tact, added some good players and signed Garry Monk as manager.
For sure, then, they’re in a good place and it seems as though Ashley Fletcher is going to be the next one to sign for the club in the very near future – as per The Sun.
Certainly, that is the topic of discussion on Twitter amongst the Boro faithful with him arriving from West Ham having not really made an impact.
Even so, he has potential and Monk may be able to extract that but, in the meantime, here is the best of the reaction:
Surely we’re not paying £7m for Ashley Fletcher? Makes no sense to pay so much for a third choice striker. £4m tops for me #boro #UTB

Having seen a fair bit of West Ham last season, can’t say the signing of Ashley Fletcher excites me in the slightest..#Boro

Ashley Fletcher is a good player but unsure that he’s worth £7m tbh #boro

Ashley Fletcher? No problem with it but must mean Gestede is on his way. Desperate for at least 2 creative players now like #boro #utb

Who’s Ashley Fletcher and why are we wanting to spend £7m? #Boro #WHUFC

Do we need him? Bamford is surely going to be given a chance this season!?

This has to be a joke
