Our Sunderland fans here in the Transfer Tavern really would like their side to receive some good news soon with things just stuck in a pretty negative mood.
Indeed, after relegation came last season at last the club has seen David Moyes walk out and a serious doubt over whether the club has the resources to challenge at the top of the Championship.
For sure, they’ve struggled to attract a new boss up until now but that might just be about to change with it apparent that the club has been given permission to speak to Preston’s Simon Grayson.
Grayson has done a fine job with the men from Deepdale and so the hope must be that he can do similar with the Black Cats.
It’s certainly got fans talking, then, and so here is the best of the reaction:
