Everton fans in the Football Transfer Tavern have been a hard bunch to control recently as they have what looks to be the most exciting season in the club’s recent history on the horizon.
Everton have been looking busy already since the end of the Premier League season. Having tied up a new manager in Ronald Koeman, they have now also signed new goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg on a three-year deal from Fulham.
Evertonians will now be rubbing their hands in delight after seeing the club linked with Spanish international star, Juan Mata. The 28 year old is suggested as surplus to requirements at Manchester United, after Mourinho’s arrival this summer, having sold him during his Chelsea reign back in 2014.
Toffee’s manager Koeman wants the attacking midfielder to join his Everton revolution as he looks to make his mark in the Premier League with his new club, following another successful campaign as manager of Southampton last time out.
It has been reported by the The Telegraph, that Manchester United would be looking for around £20 million, though the picture is not yet 100% clear.
It looks like Everton mean business, so what other big money signing could we expect to see follow Juan Mata to Goodison Park this summer?
Axel Witsel

After Belgium crashed out to Wales on Friday night, Everton might now try to push on with the signature of Zenit St Petersburg midfielder Axel Witsel.
The 27 year old, standing at 6ft 1 inches tall would be a valuable addition to Everton’s central midfield, but could be costly with Zenit having paid £34 million for the player back in 2012.
Napoli and Merseyside counterparts Liverpool are also credited with an interest in the Russian League player, so Evertonians may have to wait and see on this one.
Everton will be hoping they can persuade the Belgium international to join Koemans revolution, with Witsel’s father describing interest from the Blues as “concrete”.
Graziano Pelle

Following Koeman from Southampton could well be Italian international, Graziano Pelle.
The Euro 2016 star is not looking likely to receive a new contract with the Saints, and would be a valuable addition to Everton’s strike force.
According to The Telegraph, Southampton will look to cash in on the Italian, hoping to receive somewhere between £10 and £20 million for the attacker, a fee which could now rise to the higher end of that spectrum after a successful Euro 2016 campaign.
The player would be an adequate replacement for Lukaku if he was to depart this summer, after racking up an impressive 11 goals and 6 assists last season.
Odion Ighalo

Another potential replacement for Romelu Lukaku could come in the form of Watford striker, Odion Ighalo.
With 15 goals and 3 assists in his first season in the Premier League, this is the certainly the kind of pedigree Everton fans would be excited to see join Merseyside.
Chinese Super League club, Shanghai SIPG, were reported by the Mirror, to have offered £37.5 million for the Nigerian born striker, an offer which Watford rejected.
However Everton would likely be looking for a cheaper deal, with it being suggested that the offer was rejected because Igahlo wanted to remain in the Premier League, something Everton can offer.
