According to calciomercatoweb, Daniel Sturridge could leave Liverpool for AC Milan in the January transfer window in the latest rumour about the England striker.
The striker has not played much at all this season for the Reds with Jurgen Klopp preferring the combined efforts of Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Philippe Coutinho up front, leading to the speculation that he will look to leave imminently.
Certainly, here in the Transfer Tavern, the opinion is that the player should be getting more minutes than he is given is talent and many opposition fans here by the bar are saying just how much they’d like him to be their centre-forward if Liverpool are to sell him.
Despite his wonderful scoring record in red, Jurgen Klopp’s rebuild at Anfield has seemingly left the England international alone in the dark.
It could be a busy transfer window for outgoings, too, then at Anfield and our landlord reckons these three players could also be on their way out of the club once the January window opens…
Mamadou Sakho
Sakho and Klopp evidently do not get on anymore and so it would be best for all concerned if the Reds and the Frenchman were to part company.
He was a mainstay last season as the side got to the Europa League final but since then, thanks to his lack of discipline on the club’s pre-season tour of the United States, he has not featured once for the team.
He’ll surely go.
Simon Mignolet
The Belgian stopper has been ousted by Loris Karius in the side and looks as though he’ll find it tough to get back in.
Whilst he has the tendency to flap at times and make mistakes, Mignolet is still a good shot stopper and many clubs would be looking at him thinking he could do a job.
It wouldn’t be a surprise to see him push for a move either as he knows he could be playing elsewhere.
Alberto Moreno
The Spaniard, put simply, is a liability at left-back and it speaks volumes that he’s been replaced in that area by a man who had never played there before – James Milner.
Moreno could be turned into a decent left winger if someone decided to coach him that way but the Reds should not be thinking that they are the club to do so.
His ill-fated time at Anfield should be coming to an end.
