Leeds fans on Twitter expecting big things from Ryan Edmondson

It seems clear as anything that Marcelo Bielsa is determined to blood the youth at Elland Road. The 63-year-old Argentine has been revolutionary since he turned up at Leeds and it looks like the latest prodigy who he’s providing with a chance is 17-year-old Ryan Edmondson. The young striker came off the bench against Birmingham and it looks like he’s in Bielsa’s plans.

For a 17-year-old Leeds fan, playing in the Championship under Marcelo Bielsa must be a dream come true and young Edmondson will be loving every minute of it. Edmondson stated himself he still pinches himself every day wondering if it’s real and it will only get more real for the young striker when he’s got some more minutes under his belt in the Championship for his boyhood club. Although, with the likes of Tyler Roberts and the returning Kemar Roofe ahead of him, it certainly won’t be easy for the striker.
Edmondson’s first minutes in the senior side for Leeds actually came under Paul Heckingbottom on the final day of last season. The 17-year-old came off the bench for the last 15 minutes against QPR in the club’s 2-0 win and the fact that Bielsa has come in and has stuck by the youngster must mean the world to him. This season looks like it could be a big one for both Leeds United and a lot of their young players. Lads like Jamie Shackleton, Jack Clarke and Tom Pearce are already reaping the rewards from Bielsa’s methods, and Edmondson will be keen to do the same.

Love hearing young players from the academy saying these things, you can see when they play that it’s very much a case of side before self and they love pulling on the shirt
