When Marcelo Bielsa came into the club, a lot of Leeds fans believed that they’d be a mass cull of players. That the Argentine would be keen to let go of almost everyone and build them back from the ground up. However, the ex-Argentina gaffer took a different approach and instead of rebuilding the squad, he’s renovated it, and now the fans want to see Jay-Roy Grot given a lifeline.

Whilst a lot of The Whites will have been trying to forget about Grot, there’s no doubt that Bielsa will have been keeping tabs, and this article from The Yorkshire Evening Post has explained how Grot has put his nightmare first year in Yorkshire behind him and his form for VVV-Venlo has earned him a call-up to The Netherlands’ U21 squad, where he looks set to represent his country for the first time at that level.
Considering how things were looking for Mateusz Klich six months ago and how they are now for the revitalised Polish midfielder, not one Leeds fan in giving up on Grot just yet and will be desperate to see what Marcelo Bielsa can do with him. Grot has the versatility to play on the left, right or through the middle in the current Elland Road set-up and if Bielsa decides to take a punt on him when he returns from the Eredivisie then you can bet the Whites will all be getting behind him.
