The Transfer Tavern’s Everton drinkers are absolutely gutted following the latest revelation from our landlord.
He’s heard from Everton’s official website that Ramiro Funes Mori won’t just miss the Merseyside derby with Liverpool this Saturday but potentially the rest of the season.
The Argentina international suffered a torn meniscus during a shock 2-0 defeat to Bolivia on Tuesday night that forced him to limp off after 36 minutes.
Coupled with Seamus Coleman’s notorious injury, Everton will be severely depleted in defence when they go to Anfield this weekend – a ground they haven’t tasted victory at since 1999.
So needless to say, the Taverns’ Toffees punters are growing a little concerned, not only for this weekend but the rest of the campaign.
Funes More hasn’t convinced everybody since arriving at Goodison Park in summer 2015, but his 16 Premier League starts this season have brought seven clean sheets.
Here’s a look at how Everton fans reacted to the injury news on Twitter…

@Everton @funesmoriofi25 Yikes! That’s TWO backs out for the remainder! Not good. Time for the leaders to rally the troops. #COYB

Coleman out; Mori out; McCarthy out; Barkley ignored; Shneiderlin struggling; Anyone would think there was a derby coming up. #efc #everton

Genuinely not assed about Mori being injured, be assed with his mistakes and misplaced long balls in the Derby to be honest
