The Everton fans in the Transfer Tavern are merrily drinking ahead of their game against Man City as they celebrate their start to the season.

Everton have had a great start to the 2017/18 campaign.

Four games have resulted in four wins and no goals conceded either in the Toffees opening Europa and Premier League ties.

That great start can be attributed to some quality signings over the summer which has seen the likes of Jordan Pickford, Davy Klaassen and Blue’s legend Wayne Rooney join the club.

With this positive beginning to the season, it is hard to envision the club having any real problems going into the new season but there are a few things the club could resolve.

With the amount of money Ronald Koeman has spent since the transfer window, it is unlikely the Dutch manager will want to spend too much more but there are a few positions that could do with a bit more depth.

With that being said, here are two problems that Everton must solve before the window closes.

Experience up-front

Everton really could use a truly experienced Premier League striker within their ranks.

Yes, they signed Rooney but the 31-year-old hasn’t played as a striker consistently for years now.

Rumours are circulating that Koeman is considering making a loan move for Chelsea’s want-away striker Diego Costa.

Whilst this deal seems unlikely, it could happen and even if it isn’t him, Koeman should try and bring some experience to his strike force for this coming season.

Depth at the back

Now that Everton look to be trying out a three-back formation they should probably look into getting another competent centre back.

Mason Holgate isn’t quite ready for consistent first-team football and Ramiro Funes Mori won’t be coming back from his injury anytime soon so should any of Koeman’s first team centre back’s get injured it could pose a real problem to the side.
