Time to get rid? These 2 players will hold Man City back next season

The Man City fans are in the Transfer Tavern today and are listing off players they want out of the club before the summer window closes.

Last season, Manchester City’s attack was one of the best in Europe and at times, a joy to watch.

Their defence, on the other hand, was laughable but Pep Guardiola has realised this and made plenty of signings to fix those issues.

With all the money being spent by City at the moment, it is easy to forget some players who will need to head in the other direction.

City have so many players on their books, it surprised our landlord to find out certain players were still on the City payroll.

If City want to seriously challenge for the title next season, they’ll want to get rid of players who could provide any unrest on the pitch or in the dressing room.

With that being said, here are two Man City players who could hold the club back next year…

Samir Nasri

Samir Nasri is the perfect example of a player that can be toxic to a side.

It has been reported recently that, to put it simply, most of the Manchester City squad hate Samir Nasri and want him out of the club.

He is apparently very arrogant and doesn’t seem to care which has rubbed a few unnamed City players the wrong way.

Guardiola has already dropped the asking price for the Frenchman so he needs to accept any offer that comes in and restore peace amongst his players.

Eliaquim Mangala

Only three years ago, Eliaquim Mangala cost Manchester City £32 million when he joined from Porto.

Since then, his career has hit a brick wall and spending last season on loan at Valencia didn’t seem to help much.

Not a toxic player like Samir Nasri is, his lacklustre performances on the pitch could still hold City back next season.

They’d lose a lot of money in the deal, but Juventus have been rumoured to be interested in his services.

Guardiola should let the defender go before Mangala becomes a problem within the side.
