Our Manchester City fans here in the Transfer Tavern are gearing up for the biggest game of the weekend as their side plays host to Tottenham.

The Citizens have had a rough time of it recently with things culminating in a heavy 4-0 loss against Everton last time out and so, for many, this game represents a cross-roads in their season.

Either, City win it and get themselves back in the title race or they lose more ground and seem destined to have to settle for a top four spot.

Certainly, then, any boost before this one is going to be welcomed and that is what they have received with Gabriel Jesus at last being given clearance to play for the club.

The young Brazilian forward is certainly an exciting looking prospect and our landlord reckons City should throw him in straight away to try and catch Spurs unawares.

Time, then, for City to go with this front-three this weekend…

RW: Raheem Sterling

Our landlord reckons for City to beat Spurs’ high-press they may actually, whisper it quietly around Guardiola, have to play more direct.

If they can cut out Spurs’ attack and midfield and get the ball quickly to their array of attacking stars things could go along nicely with this man down the right. Sterling against Danny Rose has the potential to be a classic and one we’re expecting to see this weekend.

ST: Sergio Aguero

Whoever plays in Spurs’ defence this weekend, be it a back-three or back-four will have to be on it with this man around.

He’s blown hot and cold this season but when he’s hot no-one can live with him – including Toby Alderweireld. Aguero will be looking to remind us all that he’s the main man up top for City, even with this young prodigy set to come in alongside him…

LW: Gabriel Jesus

Our landlord can’t wait to see him action as he really does look a potential star.

He was brilliant for Palmeiras in Brazil but this is a completely different level and there could be arguably no harder introduction for him than against a fine looking Spurs outfit. If he can perform well, though, City will have their tails up and might not be out of the title race just yet.
