Everton: Theo Walcott’s heroics in 3-2 win at Watford has supporters divided over winger

Following Everton’s dramatic 3-2 comeback win away to Watford, supporters have been divided over match-winning man Theo Walcott – with a debate on Twitter emerging over whether the goal will truly spur him on to good form or if this is just a flash in the pan.

Walcott, who scored an injury-time winner for the Toffees at Vicarage Road last Saturday, has been in debatable form this season when taking the whole campaign into context – with the former England midfielder scoring just one goal and assisting one more in 18 league appearances, as per WhoScored.com. By comparison, fellow winger Bernard appears to have accumulated superior numbers – amassing more key passes (1.1) and more completed dribbles per game (1.3) than his teammate.

Despite Walcott garnering a better shots per game ratio (1.6), you could argue that his Brazilian counterpart has had more of a creative influence this season. Regardless, due to Walcott’s heroics last Saturday, you could also debate that his match-winning strike may be a key moment in the 30-year-old’s quest to gain some prolific form.
