The Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern have been urging their club not to fork out the cash for Stoke City’s wantaway winger, Xherdan Shqiri. The Swiss star has won an incredible 74 caps for his country at the age of just 26 and could be the next signing through the door at Anfield. Whilst there’s no doubting the impressive winger’s talents, the one thing you can doubt is his work rate. The Stoke man is often seen walking around the pitch, failing to press defender’s when they’re in possession and nonchalantly walking back after being dispossessed in the attacking third. This is somewhat made up for by his ability to score a Puskas award contender out of nowhere, although the Liverpool fans will want more from him if he does sign.
This summer will be an interesting one for the Reds, they’ve already had both Fabinho and Naby Keita join up with the squad and Jurgen Klopp will be looking to add depth in their attack as they look destined to offload both Danny Ings and Daniel Sturridge, however, with a lot of fans calling for the club to ditch the signing of Shaqiri and look for more industrious options who will work hard for the team.
