The Rangers fans in the Transfer Tavern are delighted to hear comments from Josh Windass as he’s claimed that pre-season this summer under Steven Gerrard has been the toughest of his career. Windass made his comments whilst speaking to the Rangers website where he also stated he wanted to better his goal return next season by ten, after scoring 18 goals this season.

The Gers propping our bar up will be delighted to hear that Windass and co are struggling in pre-season under Steven Gerrard, as the players will benefit from their hard work during the season. The fitness levels of pros at the top level has to be a class above, and having a manager like Gerrard, who played at the top level throughout his entire career is brilliant as his preparation will always be top notch.
Windass, in particular, is a player who will benefit from having Gerrard in charge, with the ex-England and Liverpool captain formerly playing in attacking midfield he will be able to directly help the young English midfielder. The rest of Windass’ comments were focused around the club’s new signings, who will also be feeling the heat as Gerrard continues to put the Bluenoses through their paces in their Spanish pre-season tour.
