Kevin De Bruyne

Kevin De Bruyne

An expensive summer arrival from Wolfsburg, Kevin De Bruyne has taken the Premier League by storm and has left Jose Mourinho with a fair bit of egg on his face.

The Belgian is arguably the finest purchase of the summer and has been crucial for the Citizens both domestically and in the Champions League, where he was the saviour in the last-gasp victory over Sevilla.

With the European Championships on the horizon, and years ahead of him, De Bruyne could become even better moving forward.

Mesut Ozil

Ozil

Criminally underrated in the past by many, Mesut Ozil has answered all his critics this season and has set alight to the Premier League. With nine assists already in the league, Ozil is just 11 shy of Thierry Henry’s season record with 27 games left to play.

A World Cup winner, Ozil is one of the finest midfielders in the current generation and dominates the play even on an off day. A potential contender for Player Of The Year and crucial for Arsenal in their title push, there’s not many better than the German.

Philippe Coutinho

The Liverpool ace was a surprise entry for many in last year’s PFA Team Of The Year but has proved himself to the doubters with some fine performances this term, including a decisive performance in the victories over Stoke City and Chelsea.

Coutinho hasn’t quite fond consistency during his time in the Premier League but that should improve under Jurgen Klopp, whilst his ability cannot be disregarded with the likes of Barcelona keeping tabs on the Brazilian.

David Silva

David Silva

Manchester City haven’t had the full benefits of the Spaniard due to injury problems this term but the midfielder is still regarded as one of the finest in his position in the world, let alone in England.

He, along with Sergio Aguero, will be crucial to Manchester City’s plans both domestically and on the European stage. If he finds full fitness for the remainder of the campaign, City could run away with the title.

Bastian Schweinsteiger

Schweinsteiger

Perhaps a strange choice for many, Bastian Schweinsteiger doesn’t make the cut for his Manchester United performances thus far. However, he makes our list due to the fact he has been one of the finest in the world for years.

If he finds his feet properly in England swiftly then United’s title push will receive a major boost, whilst he will be a crucial part of Germany’s squad for the European Championships at the end of the season. His class cannot be ignored!
