The Crystal Palace fans in the Transfer Tavern were disappointed not to claim a huge victory in the M23 derby against Brighton last night.
The Eagles faithful lining up the bar are feeling increasingly optimistic with their slow but steady resurgence under Roy Hodgson in recent weeks, however, they do remain firmly routed to the bottom of the Premier League table after 14 fixtures. But they now sit level on points with 19th placed Swansea on 9 points only 3 points away from 16th placed West Bromwich Albion.
Palace travelled down the M23 to face Brighton last night, for the first time since they defeated the Seagulls in the Championship play-off semi-finals in the season of their promotion to the English top-flight.
Despite the sizzling pre-match atmosphere, the game rather fizzled out and finished 0-0 following a scrappy affair on the south-coast.
A draw for Palace handed them their first away point of the season after a miserable opening to their campaign on the road.
The fixture saw former Palace fan-favourite Glenn Murray start up-front for Brighton against his former club.
Despite plenty of pre-match talk on Twitter that tipped Murray to come back to haunt Palace, the former Palace hero could do little to break the hearts of his former club.
And The Eagles were delighted that Murray acknowledged the travelling away supporters at the end of the game.
