Arsenal and Tottenham supporters in the Football Transfer Tavern are feeling optimistic this afternoon with news that Montpellier midfielder Younes Belhanda is keen on a summer move to the Premier League, according to Sky Sports.
Both Arsene Wenger and Andre Villas-Boas are among the bosses across Europe who have eyed up a swoop for the impressive Moroccan playmaker who was a key part of Montpellier’s Ligue 1 title success in 2011/12.
Now Premier League suitors have been offered encouragement this summer with the 23-year-old French-based player admitting that he would welcome a move to England but he does concede that the decision lies with his current club.
He said: “Nothing has been decided yet. My club wants €15million (£12.8m) and not many teams can pay that.
“I have always said that my preference would be England, but if they can’t agree a price with my current club then I will not go there.”
Premier League rivals Aston Villa are also understood to be after Belhanda while there is also interest from Serie A giants Inter Milan and AC Milan while Turkish giants Galatasaray remain keen.
