Tottenham fans have had to get by without a lot of their first team stars this season for lengthy periods of time. Injuries have hit Mauricio Pochettino’s side hard, so the news that Davinson Sanchez is on his way back is brilliant, and a reason to celebrate for a lot of the Lilywhites.

Sanchez, alongside fellow central defender Juan Foyth, has returned to first team training with the rest of the squad and that just means that he’s edging closer and closer to being able to get back out on the pitch and competing for Tottenham again. Mauricio Pochettino has had to make a lot of changes to his backline due to the injuries they’ve suffered this season, so to have Dav back is amazing news.
The game tonight against Arsenal in the Carabao Cup probably comes too soon for the defender, but that doesn’t mean his return isn’t a huge boost. The club has the tough task of going to Goodison Park on Sunday and if he can make a timely return for that fixture then the fans will be much more confident of getting all three points, especially seeing as Jan Vertonghen is also injured again and the club had to face Burnley on Saturday with just one fit central defender.
