Tottenham fans will be nervously awaiting kick-off already this morning as they prepare themselves throughout the day for their trip to The Etihad later. Last Tuesday they recorded a 1-0 win over the Citizens at their new stadium and now they face the return leg against Pep Guardiola’s juggernaut, albeit with a slender lead to defend.

This is the second of three meetings that will be taking place between Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City in the space of just eleven days, and whilst round one may have gone to Mauricio Pochettino’s side, rounds two and three will be tough. Harry Kane and Dele Alli both suffered injury in that first round clash too, meaning that the Lilywhites’ options are slim for later.
However, they still have the firepower to get through the tie, and with the likes of Heung-Min Son, Christian Eriksen and Saturday’s hat-trick hero Lucas Moura, there is no reason why they can’t fire past City and win the entire tournament. Pochettino is yet to win a trophy as a manager, and his first could be the Champions League. For now, though, fans will just want to get past City tonight before talk of winning the whole thing, but as we get closer fans will be growing in hope of silverware.

Going to be tough tomorrow, but if we can keep our heads and play like we did last week – they only had 2 shots on target – we can do this! #COYS

Going to have to dig in and withstand an early storm, I suspect. The longer we can keep it shut at the back, the more nervy they'll be. Sonny or CE on the break for the away goal. COYS.

A spot in the last four of the Champions League is up for grabs with a win, or a draw, tonight, and that’;s all the motivation that the fans need.
