This transfer window has so far been one to forget for fans of Tottenham Hotspur. The Lillywhites have been slow to get going over summer and the fans aren’t too confident of getting many deals over the line. According to The Telegraph, Spurs still feel they can secure a deal for the Frenchman.

If Mauricio Pochettino and co do get a deal for the Frenchman over the line it will likely hinge on whether or not Toby Alderweireld moves to Old Trafford this summer. In theory, that deal should be easy enough to complete. Manchester United want Alderweireld and Tottenham want Martial, both players want out of their clubs and have little time left on their contract, meaning some sort of swap deal should be viable.
This has not been the case though. Daniel levy is demanding £75 million for his Belgian defender whilst Jose Mourinho and United are adamant that they don’t want to sell to a direct Premier League rival. The transfer window has just less than three weeks left to run and whilst Spurs look close to signing Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish, they don’t appear to be close to any other incomings, if they do get Martial it will be a superb deal for Spurs and one that would show a real statement of intent ahead of the new season.

I don't like this story for the simple fact that Utd would like nothing more than to keep us hanging onto the last day..turn us down for Martial and then it's too late for us to get someone else of this calibre. Levy's preoccupation for a deal could play right into their hands

Just from the handful of tweets above it’s clear to see that Spurs fans aren’t holding out much hope of bringing in Anthony Martial.
