Eric Dier has come in for a lot of criticism over the last few months. The 24-year-old centre-back, who has also been used as a central midfielder at times, has been below par for The Lilywhites and the fans are keen to see an upturn in form from him. He’s now claimed that the squad is a match for anyone and the fans are keen to see him prove it.

With Musa Dembele seeming to struggle with the physicality of the Premier League as he gets older and Victor Wanyama suffering from injury problems, Eric Dier is one of the first names on the team sheet as he has to fill in as a defensive midfielder in Mauricio Pochettino’s team. However, the fans are beginning to question what Dier brings to the side as his sideways passing doesn’t seem to benefit Tottenham.
Dier isn’t at Tottenham to be a creative force, but you can’t blame the fans for getting frustrated at his lack of ability on the ball. As recently as two weeks ago the England man was giving the ball away to Liverpool time after time and it got to the point where you wondering how the 24-year-old made it into the starting eleven. On his day, Eric Dier is a force of nature, winning the ball back and recycling it for teammates, but as of late, he’s been well below par.

Give Wanyama a run of games. Get him used to playing again. Stronger DM and not mistake prone. And doesn’t lose the ball by trying things he can’t do.
