Yesterday evening saw Mauricio Pochettino force a couple of players back from injury to face Chelsea in the Carabao Cup. Both Eric Dier and Moussa Sissoko started the clash, and whilst Dier missed a penalty in the shootout loss, Sissoko couldn’t complete the 90 after going off injured, and the Lilywhites feared the worst.

The Lilywhites will have been frustrated as to the way that their French midfield maestro suffered his injury. Sissoko went to clear a ball, but due to a lack of communication between himself and Serge Aurier, the 29-year-old got booted by his teammate and went down requiring treatment. His knock is only minor, but the fans were distraught at the thought of losing their reformed midfield man.
The injuries at Spurs are piling up to a ridiculous level. At this stage, it’s easier to name the players that haven’t suffered any kind of injury this season as opposed to naming the ones that have, and if their rotten luck continues then they really will struggle to achieve anything of note this season. However, for now, the news around Sissoko’s knock is good, even if at the time the fans were screwing.

Tottenham fans everywhere will have been gutted to see their midfield man go down needing treatment but they’ll just be glad it was nothing serious ahead of their trip to Selhurst Park on Sunday.
