With Tottenham Hotspur losing the FA Cup semi-final and then seeing some of their best players linked with a move away, it’s fair to say the punters propping up the bar in the Transfer Tavern could do with some cheering up.
Well, that’s actually happened today, from a very unlikely source indeed. Per Sky Sports, Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has revealed his side AREN’T chasing Dele Alli this summer.

The 21-year-old has been touted as a potential target for the Citizens of late, with former Barcelona midfielder Xavi suggesting his former coach is plotting a swoop on the England international.
However, the City boss has reportedly told Sky Sports he’s not after the former MK Dons midfielder, despite praising his fantastic talent.
”He is a fantastic player, [a] good, new, English footballer. He’s a fighter. He’s good” he said.
”He’s someone who attacks the box and is one of the most fantastic players I have ever seen in my life. But Manchester City doesn’t want Dele Alli.”
As you can imagine, the resident Tottenham fans are delighted about this, hoping Alli sticks around for a few more years at least.
Thoughts?
