Tanganga, who has been out of action these last two months with a thigh injury, with Spurs boss Jose Mourinho describing him as ‘very lucky‘, returned to training recently as his teammates set off for international duty.
Tanganga could miss Man City
The Englishman was a hopeful return for City, but as per this latest football.london update, the game may come too soon – with Mourinho looking likely to miss his young starlet as Pep Guardiola’s side make the trip to north London.
In his last outing against the Sky Blues, Tanganga enjoyed a superb display – with supporters raving over a performance that drew tongue in cheek comparisons with Raphael Varane.
Reports in the media indicated he was set for a return, but this latest injury news states that the match may come too soon as Mourinho looks to ease him back slowly and carefully.
Described as a player who can put in ‘absolutely outstanding‘ showings by former Spurs striker Darren Bent, the ‘brilliant’ Tottenham star could now be unavailable for City.
Transfer Tavern take
Guardiola, meanwhile, has the likes of Raheem Sterling and Gabriel Jesus back in action for their trip to Tottenham as well as an in-form Ferran Torres returning from international duty unscathed.
Time will tell whether Mourinho gambles with his fitness or not at the weekend, but the best course of action could be ease him back into action cautiously.
