When Tottenham Hotspur’s starting line up for the Southampton game was announced, many fans seemed happy with Mauricio Pochettino’s decision making.

That person was Christian Eriksen, with some really not happy to see him in there, feeling that Erik Lamela should have been filling that space in the side.
This comes after he missed a penalty in the shoot out loss against Colchester United, as shown in a highlights video on the Sky Sports Football YouTube channel.
It also follows the news that the Denmark international is set to turn down any move away from the club in January, so he is able to have better options when he leaves for free in the summer, as reported by The Daily Mail.
In the end, Eriksen did make his impact on the game, assisting Harry Kane’s goal, making 3 key passes, while he also made 2 clearances, 2 interceptions and 1 tackle, as per SofaScore.
