Speaking to CaughtOffside, reliable source and transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has dropped an update on the Dele Alli saga, telling them an agreement over Paris-Saint Germain taking the Tottenham Hotspur ace on loan until the end of the season is ‘almost ready‘.
Romano, describing this Tottenham development as the ‘most interesting’ development to come out of the Premier League over these last few days, relayed to CaughtOffside that a deal for Alli’s exit is almost ready with him ‘pushing to go’ – but Spurs are ‘waiting’ to find a replacement for the Englishman.
Dele Alli exit agreement ‘almost ready’
The 24-year-old has started just one top flight game all season under Jose Mourinho, playing just 75 minutes of league action in total (WhoScored), but Romano hints he could be nearing an exit depending on whether Spurs bring in a like-for-like successor.
“The biggest one in my opinion is Dele Alli. The agreement between Tottenham and Paris Saint-Germain for a loan until the end of the season is almost ready,” Romano explained.
“The player wants to go, he is pushing to go, but they are waiting just because Tottenham need to find a replacement.
“I think it will be an interesting story, it could be the start of a possible domino. For sure it’s the most interesting story with Premier League clubs in the last few days.”
Mourinho has implied Alli would most likely stay at the club this month, but also refused to rule out some late January drama.
Transfer Tavern take
As the journalist explains, it will be interesting to see whether Alli is able to facilitate a move out of north London, but all the cards appear to be in chairman Daniel Levy’s hands as he stalls the deal until bringing in a new name.
