Writing on Twitter, Fabrizio Romano has shared a Christian Eriksen update by Inter Milan CEO Giuseppe Marotta who spoke to DAZN – with the Italian magnate explaining that ‘it’s almost sure‘ he’ll leave in January.
The Denmark international, who has been heavily linked with a move back to Tottenham recently, is reportedly on Daniel Levy’s radar as the playmaker has allegedly been offered out in recent weeks (Football Insider).
Eriksen return on the cards
Now, with Eriksen potentially ‘sure’ to leave in the winter window due to a lack of playing time, Spurs may have been gifted a huge boost as they contemplate returning for him in January.
Romano confirmed over the summer that Spurs had made enquires to Inter Milan over a potential loan move – with Inter refuting that idea and the Lilywhites turning elsewhere for reinforcements.
However, as Eriksen wishes to gain more valuable playing time, a move away from the Serie A giants is on the cards – and Spurs have been touted as suitors recently with Levy reportedly eyeing a move.
Transfer Tavern take
After this crucial update by Romano, it appears Tottenham have a better chance than ever of landing Eriksen given he is very likely to leave Inter Milan in January.
Spurs’ trouble of finding a suitable creative heir to the 28-year-old in midfield have been well documented, with Jose Mourinho having to utilise Tanguy Ndombele and Giovani Lo Celso in the attacking positions.
In an ideal universe, this Spurs team adding Eriksen to an already strong squad would surely be a joy to behold – with the return of another Tottenham favourite now more likely after this Romano update.
