Tottenham Hotspur: Sky Sports share ‘breaking news’ on Japhet Tanganga

According to an update by Sky Sports (via Football Daily), Tottenham Hotspur defender Japhet Tanganga now looks set to stay in north London after interest from both Southampton and Celtic – with the 21-year-old seemingly still an option for Jose Mourinho.
Tanganga, who has barely featured for the Lilywhites this season, starting three Europa League games and two domestic cup matches for Spurs over 2020/2021 (WhoScored), now looks set to remain with Spurs after deadline day interest.
Sky share Tanganga development
Indeed, both Celtic and Southampton were touted with late interest in the young defender on the final day of this transfer window, with the Saints allegedly ‘keen‘ on a late move.
However, as this ‘breaking‘ development emerges, it appears Tanganga will now remain with Spurs and Mourinho despite the young starlet hardly featuring this season.
Transfer Tavern take
Tottenham had been touted to agree to some outgoings on deadline day, but if this development is anything to go by, Tanganga will remain as an option for Mourinho.
Whether or not this results in the manager actually playing the starlet more often remains to be seen, but Celtic and Southampton will have to look elsewhere for reinforcements.
