Our Leeds fans here in the Transfer Tavern are hoping the departure of Garry Monk is not going to have too much of a negative impact on their club’s players.
The men from Elland Road – both fans and players – clearly had a strong affinity with Monk and that was naturally reflected by a pretty decent season in the second tier.
Now, though, the club must move on from the ex-Swansea manager and it’s going to be that transition that largely dictates how the club performs in 2017/18.
A busy summer, then, is on the way and it seems as though this week could kick that up a gear with the Express & Star claiming Charlie Taylor could see a deal with West Brom agreed this week.
The Whites’ left-back has certainly made it clear that he wants to leave Elland Road and so now all that seems to remain as an obstacle to the deal is a transfer fee.
If the Baggies and the Yorkshire side can strike that up, though, the wheels could start turning on this one.
