Farhad Moshiri continued to splash the cash at Everton after he brought in Theo Walcott from Arsenal last January.
Struggling for minutes at the north London club, Walcott decided it was time for a change in scenery with the Toffees and Sam Allardyce providing just that.
And when the deal was all wrapped up, it was a transfer that left all parties delighted, including supporters.

As for Allardyce specifically, the 64-year-old was left gushing over a forward he believed would bring plenty to his side’s attack.
“We have looked at the amount of goals, assists and pace that he brings to the side and it is a very good acquisition. There was a lot of shrewd negotiation by the Club in terms of today’s prices and, hopefully, it will prove to be exceptionally good value for money,” the now former Everton boss told the club’s official website.
“If you analyse his goal record, then we are looking at a player who contributes goals on a regular basis.”
However, much like his time at Arsenal, while Walcott has shown glimpses of his quality at Goodison Park, the 29-year-old has not been a consistent performer, especially in front of goal. To put things simply, he has failed to meet the high expectations set by his former manager.
This Premier League season, in just under 30 appearances, Walcott has only scored three goals. And with the England international being a pretty limited forward, when he is not finding the back of the net like now, he cannot offer much else.
Ultimately, he has been a very frustrating signing with his lack of goals being accompanied with constant poor touches and too many early runs that have seen him get caught offside time after time.
With Ademola Lookman waiting in the wings, it is criminal that Walcott has remained a regular after failing to maintain the good form he showed earlier in the season, a sentiment the Goodison Park faithful are likely to share.
