Chelsea fans are looking up with interest here in the Football Transfer Tavern.
Metro claim that Jose Mourinho has urged Monaco forward Radamel Falcao to leave France and possibly join him at Stamford Bridge.
Mourinho was more than a little bit derisory about the French side, who are of course managed by former Chelsea boss Claudio Ranieri.
The Special One noted: “I have a team, but no striker. Falcao does not have a team. A player like him can’t play in front of 3,000 people.”
Clearly this is a bit of a dig about the crowd the Ligue 1 side attract and the Blues manager also spoke about the potential signing of the ego that is Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who of course has been speaking about the Premier League in recent days.
Regarding the possibility of such a deal, Mourinho claimed: “It’s impossible. He’s happy at Paris. I know because he is my friend and we are in touch.
“PSG, with all its wealth, would never open the door. That’s mission impossible.”
One of our punters seems to think that the Chelsea manager is a little bit coy here, and we could well see this as a come and play for me plea!
