The Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern have been discussing Philippe Coutinho, as Brazil beat Croatia yesterday 2-0 at Anfield. The game also featured Dejan Lovren and Roberto Firmino and the Croatian defender posted a picture of both himself and Coutinho and the caption “I know you miss this place”, prompting mixed responses from our local Reds.

Coutinho left Liverpool for Barcelona in January for a fee of well over £100 million. Whilst the little Brazilian’s magic has been missed on the pitch at times, the goalscoring exploits of Mohamed Salah, coupled with the talent and graft put in by Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino, have seen the Kopites get over the loss of their number 10 much easier than it could have been.
Both parties seem to have benefited from Coutinho’s move. The 25-year-old has taken to life at Barcelona with ease, scoring his first hat-trick for the club in their 5-4 loss to Levante last month. During that time, his former club Liverpool have also been going about their business, reaching the Champions League final in Kiev and finishing 4th in the Premier League, ensuring they’ll be playing football at Europe’s top table next season too.

He's a greedy and selfish player, just like Neymar.
