Sheffield United currently find themselves sitting just outside of the automatic promotion places in third position, while Middlesbrough remain four points behind the Blades with a game in hand.
The Blades have been simply sensational once again in the current campaign under Chris Wilder, with the opportunity to secure promotion to the Premier League if things go their way. Meanwhile, Tony Pulis has done a brilliant job at the Riverside Stadium and his side are also still in with a great chance of reaching the Premier League.
Interestingly, Sheffield United will welcome Middlesbrough to Bramall Lane today in their next Championship fixture, so we took a look at Billy Sharp and Jordan Hugill’s influence at their respective clubs.
With that in mind, let’s compare these two transfers…
BILLY SHARP

Sheffield United signed Billy Sharp joined from Leeds United for an undisclosed fee back in 2015.
The forward has been simply sensational at Bramall Lane over the years, with this season being one of the best in his career. Indeed, he currently has 23 goals to his name in 31 appearances in all competitions, as he continues to help the Blades push towards securing promotion to the Premier League.
He may be getting on with age but that hasn’t stopped him from becoming arguably one of the best forward in the Championship, with plenty more goals still to come.
TT GRADE: A
JORDAN HUGILL

Middlesbrough signed Jordan Hugill on loan from Premier League side West Ham United back in the summer.
It’s safe to say that the forward has impressed at times in the current campaign with six goals to his name in 24 Championship appearances, but he just hasn’t been able to produce a consistent flow of goals.
Therefore, Pulis will be hoping to get plenty more out of the Englishman from here on in until the end of the current campaign, with an automatic promotion place still up for grabs.
TT GRADE: B

TT VERDICT:
When comparing these two, it’s safe to say that Billy Sharp has been superior in the current campaign as he continues to score goals with ease. Indeed, Jorgan Hugill has plenty of potential but he’s been a number of levels below the Sheffield United man this season.
Sharp has proved to be a game-changing capture as he continues to shape the Blades’ future in a positive way, with Boro’s summer signing looking like a flop in comparison to the Sheffield United star, despite joining from the Premier League, with Sharp putting him in his shadow.
