The pressure on Marco Silva and being able to keep his job appears to be intensifying as each match passes this season.
The Toffees have managed just three wins in their last 14 Premier League games so far this season, which is considered far from good enough for a club as big as the Goodison Park outfit.
Although Silva recruited well in the summer, with the likes of Richarlison, Andre Gomes, Bernard, Yerry Mina, Kurt Zouma and Lucas Digne all arriving, things on the pitch clearly have not improved and questions have been raised about his tactical approach, especially considering that they have problems defending set plays.
With rumours about his job on the line, although he has gained the dreaded vote of confidence from owner Farhad Moshiri (via TalkSPORT, per Royal Blue Mersey), the likes of Marcelo Bielsa (via The Mirror) and David Wagner (via The Times) have been linked with the role should it become available.
But who would be the best candidate for the job?
Marcelo Bielsa
There is no doubt that Bielsa has the credentials to be able to manage a Premier League side, and it could be argued as to why he has not already.
The current Leeds manager is doing a brilliant job at Elland Road with the group of players he has available to him and appears to be on the verge of bringing the Whites into the top-flight for the first time since the 2003-04 season.
The 63-year-old is able to develop players and teams as a whole as well, with a number of youngsters having excelled at Leeds so far this season.
The Argentine has got his team playing a certain way in the Championship and Everton could really do with someone of his technical and tactical ability to lead them back into European football.

David Wagner
Wagner is currently unemployed after he decided to quit Huddersfield Town just last month following a difficult campaign.
The German-born American did a stellar job with The Terriers in their first top-flight season as he managed to keep them in the Premier League against all the odds, picking up some impressive results along the way.
However, things did not pan out well for the Yorkshire outfit in the current campaign, as they find themselves bottom of the pile.
At just 47-years-old, he will still have a number of years in him as a manager and has shown that he can help develop clubs to reach their maximum potential, something that Everton appear to be in dire need of at the moment.

The Verdict:
In this battle, one man quite clearly stands out as the manager Everton should look to get should they decide to call time on Silva – and that is Bielsa.
The Argentine has managed at the highest level’s in national and club football before and has continued to impress with his methods in England over the last six months or so.
There is no doubt that Wagner did well at Huddersfield, however, there could be an argument made that he would be better off going to a team a little “smaller” before heading to a club of The Toffees stature at this point in his managerial career.
However, with Leeds looking as though they may be playing in the Premier League next season, Bielsa may not be a target Moshiri can bring to Goodison Park.
