Tottenham Hotspur currently sit in third position after 13 games in the Premier League, while Arsenal find themselves outside of the top four in fifth position.
The Lilywhites will be desperate to secure a place in the Champions League for next season and could even challenge for the title under Mauricio Pochettino. Meanwhile, the Gunners will have their sights set on securing a top four spot and silverware in Unai Emery’s first season at the Emirates.
Interestingly, Tottenham will take on Arsenal later on today in what will be the first North London derby of the current Premier League campaign, so we took a look at Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Harry Kane’s influence at their respective clubs.
With that in mind, let’s compare these two transfers…
PIERRE-EMERICK AUBAMEYANG
Stan Kroenke would have had North London supremacy on his mind when he purchased Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Borussia Dortmund for £56 million back in January of this year.
The forward has been the standout performer for the Gunners in the current campaign and is a contender for the Premier League golden boot, with eight goals to his name already this season.
Arsenal have certainly gotten their money’s worth for the Gabon international since he made the move to the English capital, but he hasn’t quite been able to help Arsenal overtake Spurs just yet in North London.

HARRY KANE
The Englishman continues to thrive to this day as he currently has 11 goals to his name for Spurs, which includes four in the Champions League and seven in the Premier League.
Daniel Levy has relied heavily on the forward to deliver for his side since putting his trust in him as a youngster, so it will have been very rewarding for him to witness his rise to stardom.
TT GRADE: A+
TT VERDICT:
When comparing these two, it’s clear to see that Harry Kane is superior at this moment in time having established himself as one of the best forwards in world football, while Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is creeping up to the Englishman’s level in the current campaign.
Arsenal invested heavily in Aubameyang in the hope that he could help wrestle supremacy from their North London rivals, but Daniel Levy was too busy watching his star man paint North London white at the time.
Kane has thrived on the international stage, in the Champions League and in the Premier League over the past couple of seasons, so he is as complete as they get.
Meanwhile, Aubameyang is currently ahead of him in the race for the golden boot and has been a hit in Europe for the Gunners, so they’re fairly similar in many ways.
Both players have already showcased their talents at times in the Premier League this season and will only get better from here on in, but it’s Kane who has put himself among Europe’s elite over the past couple of seasons or so.
