Gosztonyi had been on trial at Newcastle last January but after failing to secure a move to Newcastle he returned to Hungary.
Moyes has been tracking the midfielder since he impressed for Hungary at the U20 World Cup where the side finished 3rd and although bad weather prevented the 19 year old from flying into Liverpool last week to discuss terms, Moyes will be confident he will get his man.
Speaking to Stop, Gosztonyi said,
“This would be the best chance of my life if I could prove that I’m good enough to play abroad, I hope I’ll succeed but this is not only up to me. As I know they watched me during the under-20 World Cup and also in the Hungarian championship so they know what I can do on the pitch.”
Initially a forward, Gosztonyi has dropped back into midfield where although he can play on the left and in the center he has impressed on the right wing as he loves to get forward and take players on. This season in 13 appearances he has notched 5 goals as well as grabbing 3 assists.
