We’re expecting many Chelsea fans in the Football Transfer Tavern this evening who will want to order some stiff drinks to shake off the depression at being knocked out of the Champions League at the hands of Paris Saint-Germain last night.
Punished for a rare lacklustre display, it was Chelsea old boy David Luiz and Thiago Silva that did the damage in a fiery encounter at Stamford Bridge that was sparked by an ill-awarded first half red card to Zlatan Ibrahimovic for sliding in on Oscar.
While the Swedish legend’s poor personal record against English teams continues, one fellow that did indeed benefit from Ibra’s dismissal was son of David Beckham – Brooklyn – who managed to get his hands on the PSG forward’s matchday jersey after the game, as the image below confirms.
While we expect the Blues fans to drink our tequila supplies dry later on today, Brooklyn himself might’ve wanted to turn to the booze after Arsenal decided to release him from their Hale End Academy at the end of the season.
One of our wise punters points out that Brooklyn – aged 16 – is so young, he isn’t of the required legal age to drink as yet so getting his hands on Ibrahimovic’s jersey will forge some sort of consolation!
