Manchester United defender Luke Shaw is considering his options this summer and is aware of serious interest from Saudi Arabia. The 30-year-old is United’s longest tenured player, entering his 11th season at the club, but has seen his much of time plagued by injuries.
The least two seasons in particular have been difficult for the player, making just 27 appearances in total. Shaw made just 12 appearances last season, missing the first three months with a prolonged calf problem.
The Sun has reported that Shaw is worried about facing limited opportunities at the club following the emergence of Patrick Dorgu, Diogo Dalot, and new signing Diego Leon. Although Shaw started in United’s 1-0 Europa League final defeat to Spurs in May, he played centre-back as part of a back three due to United’s shortage in that position.
Diogo Dalot has been the man preferred by Ruben Amorim in the left back role in his 3-4-2-1 system. Shaw is expected to find himself competing with several players in the full-back positions as well as the centre-back positions.
Shaw has two more years remaining on his current deal at Old Trafford. He joined the Red Devils in 2014 from Southampton and has gone on to make 198 Premier League appearances for the club.
Shaw weighing up Old Trafford exit

Shaw is in the United squad that traveled to the USA to begin their pre-season tour with a clash against West Ham on Sunday. He also featured against Leeds in United’s earlier pre-season match but is still understood to be wary of his playing time when the Premier League returns next month.
The Saudi club(s) tracking Shaw have not been reported yet but there is understood to be serious concrete interest in the player. He is seen as an influential figure in the Old Trafford dressing room and is not considered by Amorim as surplus to requirement.
The player himself is believed to be determined to make up for lost time and will be hoping to impress England boss Thomas Tuchel ahead of next summer’s World Cup.
