Tottenham’s record in the transfer market has been very good over the last few years. With Mauricio Pochettino’s brilliant eye for a top young player, the Argentine has been able to utilise some incredible talents.
Unfortunately, though, there have been a few disappointments over the years.
That’s always going to be the case, even for a team as effective in the transfer market as Tottenham. For every Dele Alli or Christian Eriksen, a Federico Fazio or two has slipped through the cracks.
With Pochettino trying to build a top-level squad, then, perhaps he should look to clear out a few unneeded talents this summer as he looks to improve the overall quality of his team and work towards landing a trophy or two.
In truth, he probably should have sold these TWO players sooner – do you agree?
Vincent Janssen’s Tottenham career never really got started.
He came with a bright reputation for goalscoring, but he failed to adapt to the Premier League, and he was shipped out on loan last season.
The Dutchman clearly knows where the net is, but it just hasn’t happened for him in North London.
He hasn’t been included in Tottenham’s pre-season squad – and so the writing could be on the wall for him. He’s just not good enough.
Moussa Sissoko is another player that has never really done the business for Tottenham.
Signed from Newcastle, Sissoko was expected to provide some much-needed quality down the flanks, but it hasn’t quite worked out like that.
He’s been outshone by the likes of Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen over the last few years, and Tottenham have outgrown him over the last year or two.
He’s a decent player, but he’s not really good enough to make an impact at the highest level for a team like Spurs.
